Email Marketing: How to Win back Unsubscribers to your Email List

We all get too many emails on a daily basis. We also know that we lost subscribers from out lists on a regular basis right? This is a natural progression of people on our list. We subscribe while the content is relevant and leave when it isn’t. But what do you do when someone subscribes to try to make them stay?

You can grovel, but that’s embarrassing. You can make it difficult, but that’s annoying. Or you can simply remind them about why they joined in the first place by providing content of amazing value.

How do you do this? Simple…when a user opts out from our list, they are always redirected to a confirmation page. You have the ability to customize the confirmation page in your list management software. Most people just customize the text by adding a message saying goodbye, but what if you did something unexpected.

What if you redirected the page to a video that can show them something really valuable.

I saw this in action today and was win back. I was purging the lists I was on when suddenly the Unsubscribe confirmation page had a video on it. The video gave me so much information about the email list topic that I was blown away. I ended up opting back into the list because it was so shocking and interesting.

The key takeaway was that it was unexpected and valuable. What are you doing to optimize your email list? Are you providing unexpected value to your list?

Thanks,
Keith

These are very useful and need to know tips for everyone who plans using Email marketing to promote his business.
I and i say this from my own personal experience, think that email marketing is the marketing strategy that offers the biggest return for the initial investment. It is really easy to set up.
All you need is a good email template to get your potential customers interested and an email database with opt-in email addresses that you can gather on your own or buy from one of the many email list providers on line.
I’ve been buying my email databases from http://www.emaillistus.com/public-schools-principal-email-list-addresses.html and so far it is as good as it gets.

I think email marketing is a nmuat for businesses. I am not a fan of purchasing subscribers email adresses as they are not actually optins and more often than not the people do not want to receive your emails that way. This is a shady area as it is not really permission based email marketing.
